SEMINARY SCHOLARSHIPS

Make a Difference Ph.D. Scholarship Award for those preparing to teach in a seminary setting. Application deadline is March 20.

Garrett Trust Fund Scholarship for one-time emergency need, available year-round to full time MDIV students.

Cannon Endowment Fund Scholarship for students preparing for Military Chaplaincy. Members of the United Church of Christ, Christian Church Disciples of Christ, United Methodist, and Presbyterian, USA, may apply. Application deadline is April 1.

William R. Johnson Scholarship for 2nd and 3rd year seminary students who are LGBT.  Application deadline is April 1.

The Adrienne M. and Charles Shelby Rooks Fellowship for Racial and Ethnic Theological Students. Application deadline is March 1.

The Rev. Dr. Hector E. Lopez Scholarship for Latina and Latino UCC Seminarians (attending a UCC Seminary). Application deadline - March 1.

The Harold H. Wilke Scholarship Fund is available to seminarians with disabilities. Application deadline is April 1.

Also available to UCC seminarians of color are The Richard and Helen Brown Pastoral Scholarships administered by each of the member organizations of the Council of Racial and Ethnic Ministries.

El Concilio de Ministerios Hispanos de la Iglesia Unida de Cristo fue creado por el Sínodo General para atender los asuntos de los hispanos/latinos y latinas en la Iglesia Unida de Cristo y las comunidades servidas por la Iglesia.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Council for Hispanic Ministries called and anointed by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, centered in Christ shall go forth to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ through justice, liberty, hope, and love with and for Latinos and Latinas in covenant with our diverse communities and congregations and within the United Church of Christ, the wider church and society.

Council for Hispanic Ministries (CHM) is an autonomous body working cooperatively with Council Regions and Associations, Conferences, and Ministries of the UCC to promote its work among Hispanics/Latinos/Latinas in the United States of America, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and other nations of the Caribbean, Central and South America.

The Council for Hispanic Ministries Mandates:

• Promotes its mission within the United Church of Christ;

• Monitors boards and ministries of the United Church of Christ that deal with concerns

  and issues of significant importance to Hispanic people;

• Enhances the international, intercultural, and interfaith dialogue among its

  constituencies.

• Assists in the spiritual, theological and worship experience that honors the context

  and culture of its members and congregations.
